A common question many people have asked Kohler Faucets since the introduction of the Karbon articulating kitchen faucet two years ago is: “Will this be available in the bathroom?” Well, they now have their answer as the Karbon faucet lavatory collection launches at the 2010 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show.

The design is just as striking in the bath as in the kitchen. Like its larger kitchen counterpart, the Karbon lavatory faucets allow the user to position the spout right where they want it and then have both hands free for grooming tasks. This truly unique hands-free feature along with the industrial-looking design is what sets the Karbon collection apart from other faucets.

Adding a new dimension to a bathroom faucet, all Karbon bath models feature a multi-function sprayhead. The standard stream is for grooming use, while the more powerful spray option is ideal for rinsing and cleaning the sink. With its smaller profile, the lavatory faucet is also ideally suited to be used as a secondary kitchen faucet.

The KOHLER Karbon faucet gets its name from carbon fiber, the surprisingly lightweight, yet incredibly strong material of which it is partly comprised. The original design impetus of the Karbon faucet was inspired by lighting and construction equipment with articulating joints and is clearly visible throughout the entire collection.

The actual construction of the faucet is a combination of traditional brass and innovative carbon fiber composite tubing. The logic behind the original use of carbon fiber lies in its superior strength and light weight, allowing for tight movement tolerance and the exceptional functional performance of this faucet. The joints connecting the sections of the faucet employ a novel patented technology that provides exceptional resistance to support the spout while allowing for smooth and effortless handling.

The Karbon lavatory faucets are available in deck-mount, wall-mount and widespread models. The widespread model allows for a retrofit installation. The available colors are Silver and Black with Polished Chrome or Vibrant® Brushed Nickel metal accents.
