Kohler Debuts Suede, Its Newest Shade of Brown Enameled Cast Iron
KOHLER, Wis. – October 4, 2011 – In its latest Enameled Cast Iron color launch, Kohler introduces Suede, a neutral brown hue that brings more depth and presence into the kitchen. With the amount of wood finishes, granites and stone homeowners are incorporating into their kitchen design, Kohler recognized an opportunity in the marketplace and its own portfolio for a dark neutral that pairs well with popular countertop materials—especially granite.
“Suede reads as a neutral but has more pigment and saturation, which translates to instant intrigue,” says Nancy Yusko, Kohler lead industrial designer – decorative product and color. It also pairs well with creamy stones and solid surfaces, providing a perfect opportunity for homeowners to play with contrast. Yusko says its hearty nature also plays well with warmer faucet finishes such as Oil Rubbed Bronze, Vibrant Brushed Nickel, and Vibrant Brushed Bronze. It will be available in 135 kitchen sink models.
“The name exudes what we wanted this new color to be,” Yusko says. “When you see Suede, you can’t help but touch it. It has an attraction and comfort that’s very livable.”
