KOHLER PURIST® HATBOX TOILET EPITOMIZES HIGH FASHION IN THE HOME

New electric toilet challenges traditional perceptions with its sleek, tankless design

Purist Hatbox ToiletKOHLER, Wis. – As the bathroom evolves from a space of pure utilitarian function to a more personal and reflective sanctuary for the mind, body and soul, Kohler Co. – a global leader in kitchen and bath design – continues to design products that help consumers more fully realize the potential harmony and beauty of this space. To that end Kohler unveils the new Purist Hatbox toilet as a perfect example of melding stark beauty with outstanding function.

Conventional cues of the traditional toilet are removed as the minimalist inspired electric toilet offers a clean aesthetic both visually and physically with its innovative tankless design. The result is a utilitarian product which provides tremendous performance yet offers unexpected beauty by turning common perceptions of what the traditional American toilet should look like upside down.

"Over the past couple decades we’ve witnessed the television’s transformation from bulky boxes to slim, streamlined plasma screens and appliances change from typical white to commercial-inspired stainless steel and even retro colors," explained David Kohler, President – Kohler Kitchen & Bath Group. "Why should the appearance and design of the toilet remain the same as it has been for the last century? The Purist Hatbox toilet is simply a natural evolution of how we perceive the toilet."

Purist Hatbox ToiletThe well-proportioned elliptical shape and clean lines and surfaces of the Purist Hatbox toilet offer style-savvy consumers a toilet that is simple, streamlined and pure. As a component of the popular KOHLER Purist Suite of products, the toilet stresses the clarity, geometry and precision of the Minimalist design school and offers a contemporary design choice in a typically traditionally designed product category.

The "tankless" design of the toilet was achieved by utilizing Kohler’s exclusive Power Lite technology – a quiet .2-horsepower electric pump fully enclosed with in the toilet bowl that provides a strong, powerful flush utilizing 1.6 gallons of water. Combined with an electronic "soft touch" actuator along the side of the toilet and the option for the water supply line to attach inside the bowl base by coming up through the floor, a smooth, streamlined external surface is achieved, making the toilet incredibly easy to clean and visually impactful.

The Purist Hatbox toilet also offers Comfort Height seating – a comfortable, chair-height seating for people of all ages and statures that also complies with the height requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Comfort Height toilets are comparable to the height of an average household chair – just over 17 inches – making it easier to sit down and stand up. Adding to this convenience is an ergonomically designed toilet seat with Quiet-Close functionality to prevent slamming of the seat and eliminate unnecessary contact with the underside of the seat. The KOHLER Purist Hatbox toilet is offered in six KOHLER colors to match the existing color offering of the Purist Suite – White, Biscuit, Ice Grey, Almond, Sandbar, and Thunder Grey.
